Dr. Chiu is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta, a Certified Global Nurse Consultant, and a United Nations Liaison for Sigma Nursing. His research focuses on examining how professional regulation can be improved and modernized to enhance public protection, developing conceptualizations of professional practice models that support health workforce development and shifting population health needs, and exploring how nursing organizations’ policy advocacy work can be strengthened to optimize policy influence.
